Cliff

once the new release comes out will you be adding a Version number info on the skins page?
the current stock of skins work with 58 but new skins that are using the new functionality from the betas wont work properly in previous release builds, it would help people to know what version skins are compatible with

Not sure, that may add confusion for users and make maintainability difficult. I was more thinking that if you had the latest version of Xion, then any of the skins on the skins page should work, so there would be no need for version numbers.

I.e. If a skin doesn't work for you, make sure you have the latest version of Xion.

Thoughts?

Cliff :)

some users dont always upgrade to the latest versions of things until some time has passed etc... some skins can giv reasons to upgrade to the latest version aswell as the added benefits that the new version brings

if skins are using the workarounds for layer sets etc.. it may cause undesirable behaviour if using the skin on an older version, if the version number is displayed then users who dont have the latest version for one reason or another know that the skin will not work as intended and potentially log bugs

similar to the version logos we have @ sc to show the user its compatible with version xx just helps to re-iterate that it was designed with that version+ in mind, it doesnt have to be confusing, a simple 1.0.58+ or 1.0.59+ would suffice

cmon thoughts people, its you that is going to use this

That works fine for me and probably most skinners. But I don't know how many people are aware of the beta versions (that aren't skinners). With your access to the web site stats are you able to see how many people still download the 1.0.58 compared to those of us on 1.0.64?

I'd say if more people download the 1.0.58 on a daily basis than 1.0.64 then SLoB's idea might have some merit.
Because skinning should be fun!
