Playlist Loading and Saving considerations...

So I'd like to get some discussion going on the playlist loading/saving.

I can't decide what to do with the playlist in terms of loading and saving. At the moment, you load a list in and that's it. There is no longer and association with that playlist file, so that when you now click save it asks you for a new file.

If you close Xion and open it later and that playlist that you had loaded has been updated, you won't see those changes, as Xion just loads what is in the playlist and there is no link back to that file thereafter.

As an alternative, and an idea I've been toying with for a while...would it make more sense to actually make it similar to opening a document in word? If you open a playlist, you are viewing that playlist itself and if you hit save, it just saves straight back to it? Therefore there would need to be a Save As button in order to change the name of the playlist. This would also mean I would load the playlist in each time and if the playlist file was updated, you would see the changes.

If you were to go File->Close, its effectively like you went File->New because it closes the playlist you had and now you have a blank list.

To let me know, please use the Voting buttons above. If you have any questions, or queries please do so before voting so that I can clear up any concerns.

go for the alternate, if you amend a playlist and save it, those extra tracks get written to that playlist, if its not saved then playlist remains as was
