Customize the visualization colour

Skinning Questions, Suggestions and Ideas

Postby asherzgfx » March 25th, 2009, 8:48 am

Hey guys,

Not sure if this is the correct section but here we go,

I am working on a skin and it has a mini area for the visualization, and I was wandering if it is possible to stop it from alternating colours and keep as a fixed colour, blue for example.

I would really apreciate any help that can be given,

Since the visualization is actually a plugin, it does not have layer specific modifiers. Put up a feature request and you might see it in a future build, though.
I shoot and ask questions later.

Take no offense of it.

Sure it is. The vis fits in a field you define. If you make a rectangle solid blue and set it to be the vis it will.

That doesn't quite work that way. See, if you enable color randomizer, it'll do whatever it wants. And as far as i know, coloring the field of the vis won't affect the color of that static visualizer, either.

That's correct, you can't customise the visualisation layer at all. The reason for this? Well because any future plugins will draw whatever they like in there, including 3d blurry rotating rainbow coloured cubes of craziness, that's why :)

If you're after custom Visualisation that the user can't change then there are a number of options that you can try out, the most customisable being that created using an animation set.

What about:

Code: Select All Code
Visualization from Plugins   1.0.56
Visualization will be rendered here when a Visualization Plugin is active

Keyword: visualisation

You can have a custom vis color as long as the user leaves off "random color" in configuration, but as far as I know, that's the only way.You can also put animations on top of (or below) the visualization layer(s) for more customization. :)
