Continuous animation with speed based on volume.

I'm not sure if it's already been suggested, or if it is already available and I just missed it, but would it be possible to have a VU animation loop that would continue looping in one direction, but would change its speed based upon volume levels? For example, you could have something spinning that would spin slowly when there is little volume, but spin quickly when there is a lot of volume.
