New Text Objects

Hey Cliff. Would it be possible to implement a text object for the next and previous track in the playlist? I believe this could be quite useful, for me anyways hehe.

Secondly, I know the time display can be toggled for elapsed/remaining, but how about having the option to determine which to show? Like, an option for either elapsed, remaining or toggle. Reason I ask is because I'm in a situation where I have 2 little LCDs and wanted one to show elapsed and the other remaining.

Cheers! 8)

Peace, Lance

I'll take a look into this, currently the next track is decided 5 seconds from the end of the current song, but I guess I could determine it earlier.

I usually like to leave the control in the user's hands, otherwise you'll get skinner's forcing everyone to use an 'elapsed' time text control and the user then can't toggle it. I could add a keyword for skinner's to do this, but how do you think I should over come the potential problem of skinner's using the forced text mode, instead of the current one that toggles?

Indeed that could be an issue, but then you could say that with almost anything. What if a skinner decides to put 2 play buttons and no stop, or just the track title and no artist? It's the same thing really and just comes down to common sense of the skinner :)

About the next track, aye I thought it would have a really short determination. I'll leave that up to you anyway, was just a thought. Thanks again for your reply buddy!

Peace, Lance
