Xion sometimes crashes randomly while playing a song while im in a game. I use the hotkeys to control it ingame and it works beatifully. Lately it has been crashing somtimes in the middle of the song without any error messages or anything. It just closes.
There's a likely chance that Xion has compatibility issues under Vista. It also might require extra access rights. You can do this in the properties of the executable or the shortcut, simply add a compatibility mode and be sure to run it as administrator.
Alternatively, you can download the beta build 109, which has fixed compatibility errors and allows Xion to work within Vista and Windows Seven Beta much better. Build 109 is probably just as stable as build 100 at this point, but i won't give a word for it. It's all up to you.
I suggest you install Service Pack 1 for your Vista too, should you not have it yet.
I'm using Xion (U3) on xp-professional, tried it also on xp-home and server 2003 and it crashes frequently. Most of the times it looses it's configuration and it's registration (!) and there is no difference, if skins or plugins are loaded or not (oops, I had it running at the moment sice 10 minutes and it crashed at leaving the configuration-form, even there where no changes), or if it is configured or not.
the only thing, that is preserverd most of the times, is the last stored playlist.
It's a very goog player, but the frequent crashes are annoying.
Is the windows-version more stable?
