Thank youuu!! :!:

Last time I looked into this, the situation wasn't too good. It was a kludge to get it working as the native support wasn't really there and people seemed to have to hack it in and Yahoo were blocking statuses based on keywords, which meant your status wouldn't get through.

I'll revisit at some stage in the future, but it won't make it for this next public build.

Hmm, what about doing external messaging as a plugin? That way it's separate from the core and then different IMs/SocialMedia can be added as and when.

well....yes..but would that mean to start the plugin manualy...and stop it???...i mean....you already made it work with MSN...but...i use most Yahoo and Xfire !..i would apreciate if you could make it work like with MSN on these messengers !

Cliff will add things that benefit Xion and its community, I see the plugin route as possibly being one that could be open source to a point, therefore making it accessible to coders who can then add in all manner of IMs and Social Media, Radio outputs etc...

It could be made default to be on or off, which ever the case may be.

@ SLoB,

It's easy to do it either way, whether its in a plugin or not. I want to create a great core functionality without providing plugins for every little feature. If something is so small that it warrants being added to the core, then I'll do so.

It's easy already to make a plugin that does this, but there's really no reason why it can't be in core (the MSN integration is already and it means it works out of the box).

@ Venom.

I'll check out if XFire provides any APIs, etc to integrate with. To be honest I've never used it :)
