WARNING:
This is a Beta Build. That means it has fixes and features that are NEW. It is also possible it has bugs that are NEW! If you are looking for stability, please don't expect this build to be perfectly stable. It may have issues. If on the other hand you are happy to try this build out and post any bugs back in this thread, then please do!

Download:
r2 Studios Server -> http://www.r2.com.au/downloads/files/beta/qa-xion_v1.0b70.exe
OR
Xion Server -> http://xion.r2.com.au/download/beta/qa-xion_v1.0b70.exe

Changelist:
  • Fix Mute not working when a new song is loaded, when the previous song WAS muted
  • Add Speaker Output Mode to the Output Tab
  • Add Device Selection to the Output Tab
  • Add Support to Library for Displaying CD Drives
  • Add Support to Playback CD Audio files (.cda files)
  • Update FMODEx to 4.06.06
  • Fix up Drive parsing, if you load the Root directory up, it should now work from explorer

If you find bugs specifically related to this build, please post them here instead of the Bug reporting forum. Any feedback positive or negative should also go in here, no new threads. This way all feedback, etc related to this build will be in the one place.

I've added a couple of new features (I thought it best to push them in for this public release). The largest new feature is the ability to play Audio CDs. You can either open .cda files or use the Library control to open the CD Drive, its up to you. I've also added more options to the Output Tab which have been active for a while but not visible. Let me know if you experience any issues.

Enjoy!

Cliff :)

and that playlist -add directory also has cda in songtype or can load cd drive

i was going to ask on the outputs as i noticed they were in the fmodex but presumed that it used the windows default setup (so if user has already 5.1 setup) it would use that?
if it didnt then cant w8 to play it at home with the 5.1 hedfones, deffo makes a difference than cheap stereo hedfones, otherwise the sound was pretty good before ;)

while posting this & playing with the new stuff

* had a quick play on changing the speaker/outputs (while song playing) and
Faulting application xion.exe, version 1.0.0.70, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x00011e58.
was when going back to windows default

* cant view song info on song playing but can on all the other songs in the playlist from cd
altho its not filled with anything unless introducing ccdb id tag download?

* pressing next button a few times while playing the same cd
Faulting application xion.exe, version 1.0.0.70, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x000111de.

* Xion has crashed twice now on changing speaker output, while playing an mp3 not able to reproduce the crash but playing cd have replicated it 3 times now within 10 mins

now getting just
the instruction at "0x7c918fea" referenced memory at "0x00000010", The memory could not be "written".
quick debug
Unhandled exception at 0x7c918fea in Xion.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x00000010.

i doubt the avg user will change it much but the few times i went in ther and changed it can make xion crash within a few changes, something not setting right due to the lag on changing track on the cd? as there is a slight pause between the different output on change

perhaps i shouldnt have asked for cd output ;) heheh

haha ;)

The crash seems to be happening deep within Fmod. I will contact them about this crash and see if they can debug it on their end, because the callstack says its within Fmod. It seems to only happen when playing CD Audio, so if they are unable to fix it, I will pull CD Audio support back out until its been fixed.

I will fix the other bugs you've mentioned in the mean time and hopefully they can fix this crash problem.

Thanks for all of the reports!

Cliff :)

Using the new slider to set the skin to (what I would assume is 100%) translucent doesn't actually make the skin 100% invisible. I can completely understand why you would do this - but it does seem a bit innacurate.

Setting 'Speaker Setup' to anything but Stereo or Prologic/Prologic2 cuts out 3 speakers (the middle channel, back left & back right) of my 5.1 setup.

That's correct, what would be the point of setting it to 100% invisible? You might as well just hide the window... Instead the minimum value is about 5%. Any less and you can't see it anyway.

What sort of sound card setup do you have? Have you setup your speakers in the Sound Control panel?

Could be just a problem on my end... but balance sliders appear to work but dont actually change the balance. The CD stuff works great for me! I know this should be in features request, but would it be possible to add an indi_CD, indi_mp3, indi_internet so that skinners could put a little icon showing the source of the music? :) Thanks for all the hard work cliff!

Ahh, I think I found a fix. It will be available in build 71.

indi_local and indi_web already exist, do you just want an indi_cd added?
