WARNING:
This is a Beta Build. That means it has fixes and features that are NEW. It is also possible it has bugs that are NEW! If you are looking for stability, please don't expect this build to be perfectly stable. It may have issues. If on the other hand you are happy to try this build out and post any bugs back in this thread, then please do!

Download:
r2 Studios Server -> http://www.r2.com.au/downloads/files/beta/qa-xion_v1.0b71.exe
OR
Xion Server -> http://xion.r2.com.au/download/beta/qa-xion_v1.0b71.exe

Changelist:
  • Fix Output tab to display default options if existing options are out of range
  • Ensure that all speakers are set to full volume so that surround sound systems work correctly
  • Add numbering to the playlist. Can be toggled in the View menu.
  • Fix Add File Dialog not remembering the path when Multiple files are used.
  • Modify Add Directory and Add File to share paths between each other
  • Added support to playlist for Recent Playlists
  • Playlist functionality has now changed so that if there are no changes to the list, it will always load the last .m3u file on next load.
  • Playlist will remember if changes are made and save them to a temporary file until you decide to save the changes. This works even after restarting Xion.
  • Playlist will mark changes with a * at the start of the filename
  • Add support for controlling the Antialiasing of Text Layers by use of the faa(x) keyword
  • Update FMODEx to 4.06.07
  • Add support for indi_cd

If you find bugs specifically related to this build, please post them here instead of the Bug reporting forum. Any feedback positive or negative should also go in here, no new threads. This way all feedback, etc related to this build will be in the one place.

Heh, I had the Feature Request Adding bug again and have Add/fixed up a bunch of things as you can see from the list above. One of the largest changes is how the Playlist now works. Have a play and please let me know your feedback! It now works similar to notepad/wordpad, etc

Enjoy!

Cliff :)

faa(x) keyword works like a charm!

Testing the new features on the playlist.

Great work so far Cliff, keep it real and kicking. :D

The layer keywords page is wrong - indi_local is said to be the indicator for both local files & CDs.

Whoops, thanks for spotting that, all fixed up now :)

I frequently launch files from explorer or drag them onto Xion. With the clear and replace process (which I like) Xion keeps asking if the playlist is to be saved. After clicking the resulting dialog a few times it gets a tad irritating so I think the user needs to be able to choose whether to be prompted to save or not.

So I thought I'd try using Xion with the playlist disabled but that causes other problems. Dragging files onto Xion stops working and you can only select one track to play at a time.

Hmm, yes I can see how this might get annoying. Do you think an option to disable the save warning all together is in order, or only when launching files from explorer? What makes the most sense?

Yes, without a playlist component active, Xion is only able to play one file at a time.

Both I'd think. The option to disable it altogether and when files are launched from explorer. An 'add to Xion playlist' explorer context menu entry would make the most sense. Having the shell integration handled in the options (as Winrar does) would be great.

Yes, that warning gets pretty old... :) An option to disable would be nice!

Hey sorry for the double post, just had a quick concern. I was running a previous build (not sure which) when I made my skin "Thump". When I ran the visualisation in the previous build, the lines stayed white. On the latest build, they cycle through all colors. Not sure if this is a bug or maybe I just didn't do something right! Thanks

Kev

I think I'll change how it works so that it only asks you to save if you've ALREADY saved a playlist and you modified that list. If you are on a new list and you clear it, it won't bother asking. Best of both worlds that way, what do you all think?

Its actually an option in the visualization that you can change. Check out the options for it, you can tell it if you want it to cycle through colours or not :)

That sounds like a plan! And about the visualisation... I probably played with that option and then totally forgot about it! haha thanks cliff
