Xion 1.0 build 77 Beta Release

Beta Builds of Xion. These are builds that are not quite ready for Release, but need feedback and bug submissions in order to move it to Release Status

WARNING:
This is a Beta Build. That means it has fixes and features that are NEW. It is also possible it has bugs that are NEW! If you are looking for stability, please don't expect this build to be perfectly stable. It may have issues. If on the other hand you are happy to try this build out and post any bugs back in this thread, then please do!

Download Installer Version:
r2 Studios Server -> http://www.r2.com.au/downloads/files/beta/qa-xion_v1.0b77.exe
OR
Xion Server -> http://xion.r2.com.au/download/beta/qa-xion_v1.0b77.exe

Download Portable Device Version:
r2 Studios Server -> http://www.r2.com.au/downloads/files/beta/qa-xion_v1.0b77.zip
OR
Xion Server -> http://xion.r2.com.au/download/beta/qa-xion_v1.0b77.zip

Changelist:
  • Tidy some rendering code a little
  • Modify fixed URL playback so that it streams instead of downloading the whole song
  • Add CTRL+U to the shortcut list for the playlsit
  • Fix freeze when adding many items to the playlist comes to an end
  • Remove Context menu from Library
  • Fix playback of tiny files such as short .wav files
  • Ensure that trans_ layers don't re-show themselves if they've been told to hide via action_layer_hide
  • Fix activation state changing when simply showing right click menu on skin
  • Remove uninstall command line from portable edition
  • Fix uninstall handler when Xion is running while uninstalling
  • Fix tag library related crashes

If you find bugs specifically related to this build, please post them here instead of the Bug reporting forum. Any feedback positive or negative should also go in here, no new threads. This way all feedback, etc related to this build will be in the one place.

I've included 'Xion Portable' in the downloads list which is a .zip file with no installer and with no File Type registration or Registry access at all. This is so that users can run it from a USB device without needing to install anything. Other than that the builds should be identical. Let me know if you find any issues! Thanks!

Enjoy!

Cliff :)

n1 Cliff! :)

you forgot to add in layer set layer can be hidden also, this is a great addition imo for those wanting to hide items in animation layer sets

hopefully the last few posts in the 76 thread can be looked at soon regarding the cd play, hopefully pickles post might be fixed with the playlist changes
i did a quick check on bass site and noticed a few posts, is ther anything specific we can test or you want us to test in the tags Cliff?

its strange that the cd should cause issues as i've not seen any bugs when i tried out the evil player for cd

whats next on the tofix list Cliff?

Is the cd play still causing crashes in this build? Its possible it was related to the tag library, however I'm not sure. How do I reproduce the crashes on my end?

yes, pickle's problems should hopefully now be fixed. I added large amounts of songs to my playlist with no issues at all.

what's next to fix? well, hopefully nothing! There are a few things I will be looking at after release, but I want to get this as stable as possible before release, so if everyone can let me know of any issues, I'll get to work on fixing them and then finally I can create a new public release!

i tried it out earlier and yea cd is still playing up
cd play is just through normal use, it seems as tho the tracks dont want to play sometimes thru natural song progression ie no intervention, just let the cd play on from track to track, when it stops and the timer goes back to zero and then the next track doesnt play, as soon as you goto play or press next track then xion will crash, the faults are on the last few posts on the 76 thread
