Xion Audio Player

Xion 1.0 build 102 Beta Release

Beta Builds of Xion. These are builds that are not quite ready for Release, but need feedback and bug submissions in order to move it to Release Status

Most issues are already being addressed here. So instead, I just wanted to thank you for the VU scaling by volume as it was me who requested that :) It's exactly what I wanted for my latest skin so I'm eagerly looking forward to it being implemented in the next public release.

One thing, I also asked if you could stop the VU meters (or set them to 0% size) when Mute is enabled too.

Thanks Cliff, I'll post some issues I've spotted later on.

Peace, Lance
I made the Xion Default skin. Ask me questions and stuff.

If you attept to open an interface file from any place other than the interfaces directory Xion crashes. The interface file gets copied to the interfaces directory but it doesn't get loaded. The error generated is :

Faulting application xion.exe, version 1.0.0.101, faulting module msvcp71.dll, version 7.10.3077.0, fault address 0x0000557b.

I suspect its the Install and open button thats causing this Cliff.

More on the odd errors, they're happening very often, just about every time when loading more than 1 file, so i suspect this to be directly related to creating playlists.

And where'd all the buzz go? A new feature like this and barely any feedback. Very dissapointing, if i say so myself.
I shoot and ask questions later.

Take no offense of it.

Cheers, I've fixed this in build 103

I've built 103 with some fixes and turned the Crash reporter on so that you can send me these reports.

Yeah, I'm not sure. I guess everyone has moved on or is too busy these days :(

Ahh, it was you, good to hear you like it! ;)

I'll fix the VU scaling when muted for build 104 :)

I cant say I see the purpose of making the VUs respond to the volume rather than the levels. Is that a workaround? Cause we already had both types-VUs based on r or l volume, and VUs that responded (except for the high) to levels,
thanks, xonenine

Volume leveling is a separate feature, and it gives more realism to it, so to speak. Nothing bad about it.
I shoot and ask questions later.

The VUs are the same as they've always been, they've just been scaled according to the volume. Try it out, play a song and turn the volume down. You'll see the VU meters get lower and lower with the volume.

Before they just stayed the same, even when the volume was 0.

I used to like it the old way, but I guess it makes sense this way (and its growing on me). Its now more like a stereo system :)
