Xion Audio Player

First (good) impressions

General Discussion about Xion Audio Player

Postby djinn2 » October 4th, 2006, 12:06 pm

Hello all.

I've finally got around to registering on the board after a few days to congratulate Chris on a wonderful piece of work so far. The development of audio players seems to have been lacking in recent years. Its about time we saw something new on the scene.

After years of using winamp and trying to find a viable alternative for most of that time it looks like Xion could do the trick.

So far the most impressive property of Xion is the consistent memory usage. Developers are always raving about the low memory requirements their programs have while quoting the physical memory usage and glossing over the sometimes huge virtual memory drain (winamp  ). Xion on the other hand is pretty constant in its use of both. I've tried out all the skins and the memory only seems to fluctuate by a couple of megs at most.

Thank you Chris
