Suggestion: Now that you've got a couple of skins out, why don't you sit down and learn some new style techniques and spend some more time polishing your skins?

Most of your skins look like you've used the Bevel and Emboss layer effect. Perhaps have a look at some of the other skins out there and see what other interesting surfaces and designs you can come up with?

I'm not saying this to discourage you, just to inspire you to make better and better skins :)

Cliff :)

Bevel and emboss is cruise control for cool.

A good serious tip an old school skinner (syphen - give him a google sometime) gave to me was to look at real life surfaces and mimic them.

yep, a good source for real life surfaces are cars, esp if your stuck in traffic jams etc. you can look at the detail, the reflections and how the reflections shape with the contours of the cars, or any reflections and shapes from household objects

I'm working on something, just need to find something

And the only reason i do skins like that is because i personally like that style.

You can personally like it but 99% of designers out there will personally think you're stuck in 1993.

lol, that´s exactly what I did when I started skinning. Not looking at the traffic itself anymore, only at reflections, reflections, shapes, glass, metal, plastic, yeaah...

hmm,
I do not regard skinning/designing as just killing time, its a passion for 99% of designers/skinners, instead of just killing time why not make use of that time and look at some of the other skins and the many ps tutorials out there and try and do small things to begin with that do not just involve bevel & emboss, you owe it to yourself to get a few more tricks in the bag/feather in the cap which will really help your creativity
