General Discussion about Xion Audio Player

I am new here, so I have many things to post, so I'm sorry if you would rather this was posted in another area.
___________________________________________________________________________

I recently bought a 4GB U3 Smart Drive and have been testing out some of the programs that are available for download. I found Xion, I tried it and said, HEY!, cool! I love all the formats it can use, I love the simplicity of it, and am wondering a few things, and want to suggest a few.

First off, could someone point me in the right direction for "Skin making?" that'd be great.

Next, have you considered an option for burning CD's and converting files for external players (like the iPod)? It might be a little difficult, but I'm sure that it would be possible and VERY useful.

Next, are there any known problem with running on ME? I can't seem to get it to work here.

And lastly, what's your favorite music "Mr. Creator?"

You can find it in the Help link at the top, then under Tutorials. I'm not sure why this isn't obvious to people, perhaps I need to rename it. Or at least rename Tutorials to 'How do I make a skin?'

I've considered, however I'm currently busy on a bunch of other code and haven't had a chance to look into it any more. I do plan on getting the SDK out soon too, which will allow people other than myself, to code things for Xion :)

It won't look as good on Windows ME as it doesn't support layered Windows. To tell you the truth I haven't test it on ME for a long time now. Also, which version are you using? The U3 version or the standard Windows version? Why can't you seem to get it to work, what does it do?

Mr Creator? I prefer Xion Overlord, or Xion God or something :P Hehe but seriously I like all kinds of music. It all depends on mood. Lately its been Nine Inch Nails, Infected Mushroom, Reel Big Fish, Camp Kill Yourself, Buckcherry, Front Line Assembly, Jonezetta and Theory of a Deadman.

I am using the U3 version... I am able to use a XP computer from time to time... When I open "Xion.exe" it gives an error and never opens... (Xion has caused an error in SHIMMER.DLL. Xion will now close.) I looked up "shimmer.dll" and it seems to be fine, but I didn't open it, not that I could understand it anyway.

Cool, a creator with a sense of humor. :D

You, Mr. Cliff Cawley, have done an amazing and esy-to-use audio player.

I'll use it from now on.

Better than Winamp (too much heavy and redundant) and Foobar (it's sometimes a labyrinth), and many others I used.

Again, good good job.

Still improve this "piece-of-art", you're on the right way!

Hi ,Captain Cawley.

You chart route, I follow.

Have a safe (and inspired) journey!

PS: I'm using (and testing!) the build 85. (No problem 'til now, except for two unexpected closing of Xion when I try changin' the skin. If you think useful for you, I can send you the report file compiled by Xion.)

Sure, pass them on. Always best to keep feedback about the Beta builds in the forum for that build though ;)

Btw... I download the zip version a few days ago and it still doesn't work on ME... It comes up with another DLL file error, but it refers to a file I cannot find. Not sure what is was at the moment...

I'll post again later.

me 98! :-P because of some music software incompatibility with XP

btw Xion never ran on my 98 system and I think Xion isn´t compatible to the 95/98/ME family...
