As long as external applications don't block the input from leaving the application itself, Xion will receive them. During normal work or browsing the keys will work fine, even if you minimize Xion out of the way.
I don't think there's a real workaround to this, because i found out some of the applications i use also block G15 Keyboard's G-Keys aswell. If there were a workaround for this, i think Logitech would have put it to use already.
Well, yes the multimedia buttons works.
But it just would be beautiful if they always work.
Because although different programmes use hot-keys but not the Media buttons!
One should be able to indicate "Media play", "Media mute" and so on
as global hotkeys.
That's the thing. They ARE global hotkeys for Windows. So are The G-keys for the G15 keyboard. The problem is, some programs disable or steal input and forbids it to have external effects. That might be just because of poor programming, lack of 'hey what if some guy had media keys and wanted to use them while playing my awesome game', or they've been disabled for cheating reasons, which is more common, because macros and the like work on software level, and are easily blocked by this method.
Again, if there were proper workarounds, logitech would've done something about it. But there seems to be none, so it's up to the programmers to include input traffic to external software. not Cliff's.
As Cliff mentioned, QCDs method caused problems with some keyboards. Xion looks to be as compatible as possible, and not cause any trouble for the user.
