This is a Beta Build. That means it has fixes and features that are NEW. It is also possible it has bugs that are NEW! If you are looking for stability, please don't expect this build to be perfectly stable. It may have issues. If on the other hand you are happy to try this build out and post any bugs back in this thread, then please do!

Changelist:
  • Fixed indexing bug with layer switch command due to recent changes to make animations as layer sliderbits - Thanks xonenine!
  • Fixed crash due to invalid trimming of a single space for the Artist - Thanks BoXXi!
  • Changed the behaviour of the GlobalHotkeys so that there is simply a warning when you attempt to bind to a single key instead of forcing a modifier.
  • Fixed the sliderbit being incorrectly aligned when you interact with the slider its bound to
  • Fixed a Device Context Release call that wasn't being called due to a logic error.
  • Fixed a crash due to empty canvas data - Thanks djinn2
  • Fixed the Window focused state so that layers that use the Active and Inactive indicators now work better during successive skin loads
  • Fixed a bug where layers marked with Inactive indicators would still attempt to redraw when they didn't need to

If you find bugs specifically related to this build, please post them here instead of the Bug reporting forum. Any feedback positive or negative should also go in here, no new threads. This way all feedback, etc related to this build will be in the one place.

ABOUT THIS BUILD:

More fixes to help with stability. The Playlist resize crash should hopefully be fixed now. If you get any crashes be sure to send me the crash reports that Xion generates!

Also if everything is running smoothly then please let me know too! :)

Any questions or bugs related to this build should be posted here only!

Enjoy!

Cliff :)

im still able to crash Xion via the playlist resizing, although it is not nearly as harsh as the last build, at least I was able to just close it and all the artifacts went away without having to reset my desktop. And it also took a little longer this time around, I almost thought it wasn't going to crash no matter how long I resized it for. But the artifacts slowly built up and eventually it went gray till it crashed. I don't even have to move it fast, I just move the mouse (while resizing) on and off the pl_list area (while the resize was initialized when the playlist was resized to be bigger than its minimum size.) It doesn't crash if I just keep moving my mouse outside of the pl_list area...hope this helps its as best as I can describe it without showing you a video which I might do as soon as I get a working program.

Wow, I followed the wall of text, slowly but surely and actually managed to cause it to crash! The key was dragging it slowly around, watching as the resize rectangle was leaving artifacts. It only took a couple of seconds.

I'll look into this soon. Please let me know if there are any other issues, I can now reproduce this one and it will be fixed for the next build.

I've recently noticed a problem with the scrollbar. When I scroll down the list to the bottom the sliderbit doesn't reach the end of the bar. How far it gets depends on how many tracks there are and the size of the playlist window. resizing the window just adjusts its position.

I think I first noticed this on build 110 but I'm not completely sure as its one of those bugs that you don't notice at first. I also can't remember if it always did this or the behaviour changed.

Ah yes, I've got this one on my TODO list already. It was mostly low priority next to the crashes though.

Yea sorry it took a wall of text to explain the special circumstances to get it to crash, but I felt you should know exactly what I was doing to get it to crash and everything I noticed that might have something to do with it. Hopefully you got it fixed, and yes I did notice the scrollbar but since they were new I figured Cliff had noticed it, wasn't hard to miss.

For the definition of wall of text, please see here -> http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... ll+of+text

Perhaps if you paid attention in newsletter writing class, they'd teach you about why paragraphs are important! :P

I know what a wall-of-text is, I don't find it necessary to paragraph on a forum simply because when I address a subject it is contained in the single paragraph I provide. Thus the way I must describe certain uncertainties is by thought-to-speech/type.

Now if I was to provide pictures/video, the story would be different and properly formatted for your viewing pleasure, but since your just reading, your reading in order and it wouldn't matter whether or not my sentences were made beautiful just so you are not intimidated by a wall-of-text.

I do not take offense to your advice, please don't get that confused. I merely just get annoyed that you make a big deal out of such a meaningless thing for a forum. And please don't confuse this with anger, I still enjoy coming here to chat-it-up with you guys.

And on note for the beta, what else is in store for the next build? I lost track of what was left to expect. It seems if the playlist thing (what was wrong with it to be exact?) was fixed then were back to just testing for the next stable build right?

Walls of text are boring and inefficient to follow and read. Most people, when confronted by such a wall, usually just go 'tl:dr'. And that's bad.

Ontopic: Updating Xion from 109 to 112 now.
I shoot and ask questions later.

Take no offense of it.

Much better! Please format your replies like that from now on as I can now read and follow!

The paragraphs allow your eyes to re-adjust. If you get distracted or taken away you know that you were up to paragraph 3.

If its a wall of text, you always find yourself concentrating so much just to make sure you are reading the correct line. If you get interrupted you have to try and find your place somewhere in the mass of words.

I don't find it necessary to paragraph on a forum simply because when I address a subject it is contained in the single paragraph I provide

Then for the sake of everyone else, please paragraph it. My mind is starting to filter out large wads of text, so if you continue I may not see your posts :P

Cliff, I noticed something in this build and it was probably like this for the others. When You have a playlist that does not provide Edges and borders it does'nt resize the pl_list to the minimum defined in the psd.

Thus if you resize the previous playlist and load a new one without resizability the pl_list will be the size of the old playlist and definitely not look right.

I tried a playlist that didn't resize and this is what I ran in to. If this can be fixed it would be awesome, if you need the playlist I'm trying to make work, I'll gladly provide.

And by the way, Making a playlist with all those edges and borders is tedious, we should start discussing a way to make this process a little easier, yea?

Is this the same issue from your transparent playlist where the playlist seems to align incorrectly? If so I have that marked on my TODO list to fix for the next build. If not, send me the skin and I'll check it out. Just make sure the error is visible without me having to change anything in the PSD.

Well I was asking for this feedback many moons ago and there were only a couple of comments, nothing much at all. Those who have made playlists seemed happy with it.

I'm not sure what else we can do for a resizeable playlist, to be honest. You shouldn't HAVE to define edges as well as borders, if that's what is causing the issue above, then its a bug. If you have any ideas, then post away.

Keep in mind that if we need to overhaul the system that's going to take some time and the Public release will again be delayed.
