Is it possible to port the portable Xion to a cell phone? I realize it's just an exercise, but I enjoy trying new things, and lately I am fooling w/ the cell.
edit:that wasn't real smart to think about, now I have to make a few cell phone wallpapers of Xion skins.
Xion, at the moment, takes a lot of CPU power. Cell phone CPU's have a small, small fraction of the power of a computers (0.1gHz I beleive in a decent phone).
Can a program LIKE xion be made for a phone? Yes. But low features.
On my Palm Centro, there's a program called PTunes which is a simple yet skinnable media player. But NOTHING close to Xion.
That would be kinda funny, using the cell/bluetooth as a remote, and when you think of sitting across the room and doing it, it starts to sound less funny and more like a neat idea...
So you could control Xion from a web browser somewhere else, be it on your phone, your Wii or any other web enabled device. Its essentially the epitome of laziness
I've controlled Xion via bluetooth occasionally from my mobile. I use a remote control application from my phone that utilizes HID profiles to interact with software on the PC. The software maps the keys of the mobile to commands on the PC customised for each program I want to use.
You can use addons like FoxyTunes to control media players via Firefox on the same PC, not sure if you can do it over a network but I'm sure that it'd be reasonably straightforward.
Im really glad you mentioned HID djinn. I got busy and never looked at my bluetooth device much or the software (it's called BlueSoleil).I looked and it has the features you describe so I'll enjoy assigning some keys and fool with it some more. Thanks!
Yeah, I have a bluetooth remote that I use to control either Xion or Winamp. It's really nice if you're listening to music while laying down or something like that.
You have to use one of the generic setups to get Xion to work with FoxyTunes. I think you need to launch Xion first cos Foxy won't start it up itself. The play controls work fine though.
