This is a collection of shiny and matte lightmaps in .jpg, along w/ a collection of environment maps in .q9q. :)

Thanks :D Definitely helps with making chrome effects.

Note to others: To use this, do map>lighting effects>environment map. (I think, well that's how it is in gimp).

You can also use random pictures of rooms and stuff too, depending on skin curves you can use the bloat/sphere tools to change the perspective, then add them in as a semi transparent layer with possible greyscale than colour for best results :)

If you want to get more realistic/fancier effects; try this.

Make a copy of your skin, hide the infotags, flatten it, make a square out of it, spherize it, save it as a jpeg (usually at 256x256) you can now use that image in most paint/model programs as a light map/light source.

You are now as good at making lightmaps as anyone, hehe.It is good and common practice to use items that would be reflected in real life also.(skies,lights,buildings,etc.)

That is all any environment map is, unless you want real=time mapping.If it was a 3d environment you'd make 6 of them in a set.

Nothing looks better than home-cooked reflections of your real skin... :)
