ok n00bs
this is the most strait forward way AND
you only need a pause button because pause will also play,
so in this order

pause (with a visibility of around 2% that covers the entire underlying buttons area)
indi_pause (make this layer look like a play button with full visibility)
indi_play (make this look like a pause button with full visibility)

so now the invisible pause overlay is the actual button and the visible underlying indicaters are replicating actual button toggling

If you wanted to improve on this, you could combine the indicator keywords in the pause layer. That way you could have two different buttons, with _over and _down layers as well.

The layer list might look like this:

pause_over
pause_normal indi_pause
pause_down
pause_over
pause_normal indi_play
pause_down

Now you can paint the pause buttons separately, with their own _over and _down layers for extra effect ;)

Hey Cliff,
thanks for the tip with the toggle Play/Pause Button.

Unfortunality, I have encountered a bug:
When pressing the stop-button, the play/pause Button disappears. It returns when I push on the "previous" button.

Any fix for that?
Will upload the skin if needed.

Greetz,
Chris

Thanks for the reply - it's working now.
The system is kinda strange at first ^^

And is it normal, that when pressing now the stop/next/previous button, that the play/pause button will shortly fade out (in transparency) and fade in afterwards?
Just wondering.

Need to learn this indi_xxx thingy.

I believe this was originally made by Jikaru, and sums it up pretty nice... :)

One thing to note, is that you don't need to add the extra keywords to the _over and _down layer. Just the _normal. The _over and _down layer will use the keywords from _normal if they don't have any.

Its possibly just that I need to polish the rendering some more. It may also be that if you have 2 buttons fading, opposite to each other (i.e. one fading in, one fading out), that what you're seeing is the point where they're mixing together, and due to both being slightly transparent, you can see through underneath them. This can usually be fixed by taking a copy of one of the buttons, and merging it into the layers below to 'bake it in'.

That way when both buttons are between fading, you will see the baked in button behind, instead of the underneath of the skin.

indi_ stands for 'Indicator'. It indicates state. So indi_play will be active when the player is playing. Any layer with this keyword will show itself. When its not active, the layer will hide itself.

I assume you were referring to Indiana Jones. He was named after the families dog as mentioned by his father (Sean Connery) in The Last Crusade
