Xion Audio Player

Xion Skin Submission Guidelines - The Draft

General Discussion about Xion Audio Player

Postby logokas » February 16th, 2013, 3:32 pm

So I've gone through another 100 today.

The amount of skins I've seen that go full YO DAWG in its packaging is staggering.

Also, I have never been more sick of seeing another tux in my life. Somebody else can finish the rest of those, good god.

And this is what my desktop looks like after a three digit review process:

I shoot and ask questions later.

Take no offense of it.

Lance Wrote:Yeah I reckon new skins should take priority over the backlog. The backlog have tons of downloads each already so may as well focus on new stuff sooner.

The skins are ordered by date updated, so any new/updated skins will be first in line.

Lance Wrote:One thing I've noticed, when I approve a skin, the 'total skins available' doesn't seem to increase. It's gone up a bit. I dono, maybe I'm approving so little of them that it's hard to notice a change xD In fact yeah, scrap that. It obviously works. Must just be a delay.

The count just shows everything for now. Which is also why new skins that are added are going straight into the available list. Once we've cleared the backlog I'll change the code to only show those that are approved and things will go to normal :)

Lance Wrote:Oh by the way Cliff, now there's a a Featured section, could you add a 'view all featured' just for the sake of consistency really. Not important though.

Ah, true, done!

logokas Wrote:I'd be very interested to know how many skins will remain once we're done going through all of them, though. I think about one in five reviews that I do actually get accepted. Mostly because of MrRearm missing elementary elements, so a lot of his stuff has gone back to the drawing board.

I've added stats to the top left for skin moderators :)

I've also enabled PMing a user when their skin is accepted or rejected.

This is done automatically by the system :)

We are now down to 400 skins. This last lot was a very interesting one, and we found quite a few cherries in the mix. The really good ones have been commented on!

Several backend updates have also been made our life as skin moderators, easier.
I shoot and ask questions later.

Take no offense of it.

Yo Cliff since your recent DNS updates or whatever you were doing, the skin approvals have been broken :( The skins aren't being removed from the approval list once accepted/declined and also none of the stat counters update either. Total bummer, I just sat and went through a bunch more before realizing xD
I made the Xion Default skin. Ask me questions and stuff.

The reviewal queue is now empty. I have reviewed 601 skins total, which is over 50% of the entire database.

The guidelines have been streamlined further to clarify the minimums, and ease up on requirements.
I shoot and ask questions later.

Take no offense of it.

Woo, awesome work logokas!

I've flicked the switch to only show skins that have been approved now too, so all new submissions will only appear after approval.
