Room chat panel

Hi Cliff,
When you design the new interface for the site, could we have a "chat" panel of some sort for more direct contact, for the simple and transitory things like "Good Morning" or "You need to zip that first"?

Easiest would be to embed a quick Shoutbox into the table and keep it on the side. I use one for my own forums, works great, but sometimes steals away the activity from the forum.
