Slider for size of Album Art

Feature Requests and Ideas

Postby Freerun » January 11th, 2013, 5:33 am

as title says it would be nice if user could control size of album art

resizing can happen from different corners or center specified in layer name

albumartbr - from bottom right corner
albumartbt - from bottom left corner
albumarttr - from top right corner
albumarttl - from top left corner
albumartc - from center

it came to me that it might be a problem for skins that display "loading" or "no art"
so maybe add this ability for albumart and other custom layers
or maybe they could be linked and resized together with albumart

This would require the skin to also accomodate the size in it's other elements, which are completely static.

I believe a simpler solution would be to display a larger version of the image on mouseover. More elegant, less effort to implement.

I do agree that some skins have a very small layer for the album art, and the cover is often illegible. But such is life.
I shoot and ask questions later.

Take no offense of it.

Yes that's true, not all skins would be able take advantage of that feature but I can imagine some setups that might, without resizing other elements. When album art is not fit into some specific frame or border, it's more for non-compact or semi-/transparent skins.

I like also the idea of mouseover :)

a quick proof of concept...

album art resized via toggling through multiple layers. i made a few attempts using some animation/slider approaches, and while some of them technically 'worked', the overall behavior was a bit buggy and there were some undesirable side-effects.
