Media Type indicators

Feature Requests and Ideas

it would be nice if there were indicator variables for the type of file being played.
For example Mp3, Midi, Mod .. etc.. even one for net play...
If it aint broke, fix it anyway. You may do it better.

Good idea! I was also going to add indicators for Song types, eg: Rap, Rock, etc . That way you could make your skin dynamically change to the music the user was listening to.

I will add this to my list of things to do for the next release.

Now I like that idea..

have a skin that starts out as a barn and changes to a nightclub and so on, pending on the music... ;)

I like the idea (indicators for song styles) but I can imagine the PSD files becoming not only big but also very messy with all those layers. Actually this brings me to something I've been wondering about (if I were home I'd test it but as is I'll just ask). How does Xion treat layer sets that aren't for animations, I mean if we were to organize our layers into sets, would Xion know to go into an "unknown" set and process the layers as usual? Or would it ignore the layer set (because it's not specifically an animation set) and wouldn't display anything that's inside it?

It only processes things it understands in a special way. Anything else it just displays as normal.

So to answer your question, yes you can use layersets to organise your buttons/objects/groups, etc without it affecting how Xion handles your skin.

thats what i thought it would do, most aps/scripts using psds seem to ignore the layer sets which is good for us ps users who like to keep things organised/structured :)
thanks for clarifying Cliff, could you add that to the tutorial pages too so that others can pick that up without having to trawl thru the numerous posts etc.. thanks.
