I need to get in the frame of mind to do some more skins, have loads of ideas in head and on paper but not in Xion or other players Will get there at some point

Yea I think it's important to work on your own style and make best use of it where you can. It's a constant learning thing though as techniques/styles/ideas/level/eye of detail improve.
