Beta Builds of Xion. These are builds that are not quite ready for Release, but need feedback and bug submissions in order to move it to Release Status
Jikaru Wrote:@ Deathy: We all miss the old display of the tray icons... :p
That's strange I only changed it because someone said its difficult to see a colour change between icons and they thought it should change. Before that someone also said the colours should be changed to something else.
I wanted to keep the Xion logo colour so I left it all the same and added the images as well.
In a future build I can allow you to change the icons I guess.

That would be most excellent, although now I'm not even using my taskbar lol.

The problem is that now the icons are even harder to distinguish, because part of the tiny icons melt together with the rest of it. It just needs a different color scheme for the icons, that contrasts the Xion logo behind it.
change the color of the icon of now, i mean you keep the icons like now and just change the color of the Xion logo in the task bar,
have you even read what i said about the special caracters like é è à ù and so?
Deathy Wrote:have you even read what i said about the special caracters like é è à ù and so?
Yes I read, I just haven't had a chance to respond to now, as I wanted to investigate it first.
The characters will work fine as long as you use a font that supports them.
Try the default skin in build 113 and it should all display perfectly. If you are using a different skin that has a custom font that doesn't contain those characters, then no, it won't display properly. I tested those characters here and it worked perfectly.
Of course, if you are using build 100, then no this won't display correctly as I didn't have Unicode support.
I wouldn't specifically call this a bug, but I think it might help w/ reported skin crashes to mention that I am able to crash Xion by trying to load a skin with unmerged layer effects.
Knowing that the unmerged effects don't show up anyway, I'd never tried this...
Deathy Wrote:Ok, you are right, it's the track that got a bug, I can't read it with VLC. But it's a good luck, I think you should add something in the software to ignore the corrupted files, what do you think about that ?
Sure, send me the file that has the problem so I can reproduce it and fix it. Use the Contact page and attach the file that causes the crash.
dissonance Wrote:Hey guys, I'm experiencing a little problem on the player. I use to select my music to play by adding directories with right click's context menu, "Play now in Xion". By doing this, the player says "Error playing: c:\whaterverdirichose", just like trying to play the dir itself as a music file. Of course I can skip the alert and start playing manually, but I guess this is not the expected behavior. Is this a known issue or what? I'm experiencing this since beta 109 at least.
Rutabaga Wrote:Another newbie here. I'm having an issue with the snaprectangle layer. I'm not sure if it's a bug, a feature, or my misunderstanding of how that layer works.
I have a portion of the background layer that extends above and below the snaprectangle region. When Xion draws the skin, the region above the snaprectangle is missing, but the region below is fine. If I remove/rename the snaprectangle layer, the entire background displays fine.
I can produce the effect using the skin from the first tutorial (tut1.psd) and adding a transparent snaprectangle layer that is 200x100 and centered on the background. The tops of the red and green circles are cut off.
I'm using GIMP on a Mac in case that makes a difference.
Thanks.
Hi Rutabaga,
Thanks, this is definitely a bug! I've now fixed it for build 114!

Hmm can you send me a skin that causes Xion to crash with this?
I've attempted to add some effects to a layer, save it and the worst that happens is that the effects don't show (As they are all effects applied by Photoshop and aren't saved in the file)

I merged it Cliff, but I'll be happy to duplicate it and send through contacts
Obviously I don't understand the snaprectangle like I thought, I never realized it was meant to be able to overlap, my bad.
