The main animation with a ring animation that reverses when you click it, and a gear thingy...that gear I will redo again.
and an alternate faceplate...yes, the track is faded on the edges...sigh.
I have a new stargate, it is 7.something MB, much nicer, looks like the movie, I'll post it later...
I've made the 36 frame rotation 4 times now, hehe. (and the inner one twice.) If the finished anim jumps or twitches below a 1pixel shift, I usually toss it rather than try to unsharp/blend a whole set. It's always worth it in the end, there is so little shift between frames now that the outer edge doesn't appear to rotate at all...
oh, and stopped to have a terse 45 minute conversation regarding website I'm building, fella claims I'm holding him hostage, hehe.
a mockup of stargate model, has to be lit and textured yet... As you can see, to make it small enough to make a decent skin alot of detail would be gone.
Could make a section as a skin maybe, closeup, or show it on an angle...we will see the modes...So far the previous simpler model might make a nicer smaller skin.

awww dont skimp on the texture... even if it ended up being a 50mb work of modern day art , people would still download and use it most people have 2 to 4 gig ram and could easily run it... well maybe if they werent running 3 instances of photoshop and zbrush while watching a movie and doing a defrag at the same time that would not be smart lol
OK, there will be a large one for fun, and a seperate download for an everyday more practical one...
trigonsc could always warp a new album cover into the player also...
You know what else was good looking in Stargate? Everything, hehe!
The weapons, the ships, the resting place of the evil dude... But I was thinking of the transporter rings at the moment.I will have to go get DVD at the library and watch it again.
The lightmap for the light blue lens and shutter lens is the same as the black db1011 skins...I'm getting my money's worth out of that texture.
Everything else is curved, this is where Cliffs' non-linear slider will come in handy!
The first skin kind of filled up, there are so many places you can put buttons w these circular layouts. If I can add a vis and VU and indis w/o making it even more busy, I plan on them.
A wallpaper of the skin: http://yfrog.com/bbx19p on Twitter, hehe. My first tweet, I feel shame, like a man caught wearing high heels...have to make a skin of that pretty blue bird all smooshed and bloodied.
Starting the second one over from scratch, can't stand to even look at it anymore. I'll have to stop and play Lost Planet to charge up, poor me...
You know, there should really be an evil opposite of twitter, called Carrion, and instead of tweeting, you can pick and tear at roadkill w/ your beaks, I dunno, need a term for it.

I have everything I need now for stargate between the two models. Unlike the models I've only been lightmapping so far, these will be textured. That still leaves bump mapping, hehe, what about that? Maybe add a custom font, which I don't do often enough.
Here is another type of HUD/fullscreen skin, at 1024x:
Those 2 stalks go up and down...that is a white on white vis in the left stalk. The top hides. The viewscreens and main vis can be turned off. It's going to be a fun skin for scenery, space, game backgrounds...

It is looking ok, but maybe someone would try it on...say what they think. Not doin' bad on filesize for 1024, hehe, not even 1MB. I'm running it w/ an animated desktop.
I mean for it to be user driven, based on the background they pick, with minimal desktop interference, I have Object Dock and reg bar both on.
Here it is finished.I like it myself, but I've been posting quite alot of skins lately. There is a key/legend button on the left, an item I have considered in the past as potentially useful .I added vol/prog bars.. It has 4 modes now, so naming it four is perfect. I am taking the previous and next buttons back off my personal copy, I think...
Man!All that skinning satisfaction, only 22 kb, and I still get to make a preview, hehe. Heck, I still have room for dessert...I think I will do versions in aluminum and glass now...this would be a good tanagram.
