Well, no...This is nothing compared to the pure gold, diamond encrusted crown you were demanding yesterday :P

You'll have to give me an example of where this is used as I'm not entirely sure I know what you mean ;)

hehe...
Some players have a volume controle next to the EQ bands...not really a volume but an output level for the EQ...so if you jacked up the bass to far the output level can attenuated to compensate and get rid of distortion.

WMP does not do this and you can really jack your sound up with too high of a band boost.

I think Winamp has one...Zoom player too...been a while since I looked at them...especially since I now use XION.

It werks independantly of the main player volume...only affects the EQ output.

Some sort of normalization support would be great too. I like keeping long playlists and its irritating to get unexpectedly deafened by an unusually loud track :( I know I could process the mp3s but It'd take me forever cos I don't trust any program enough to do it on a batch basis.

What we really need is winamp dsp plugin support

Actually to get around the problem the best solution would be to add support for ReplayGain.

I will look at adding this for an upcoming version
