I just learned about thsi player as of last night, and I was excited about the ability to skin so easily. However after my first install and I believe I looked at the library once. the player crashed. And it crashed and has continued to crash ever since. I have tried clean installs and anything else I can think of but the player crashes nearly the moment I open it, or so windows says, but stays responsive until I click on the end button. here is a link to the screen shot http://farm1.static.flickr.com/158/3513 ... d4e1_b.jpg, if no one can help thats cool I guess that I thought people should be aware of the bug.

Welcome to the Xion Community!

It's unfortunate that this has happened for you. I believe there has been one other instance of this happen, but then it was never reproducible. I can't view the screenshot you sent, as flickr says its invalid, perhaps the link is incorrect?

Could you look in your Xion, and locate some files, zip them and use the Contact page to send them to me? (or else upload them somewhere and provide a link?)

The files are as follows:

Library.dat
Settings.dat

It's possible I can't pull any information from those, but if you have it reproducible at the moment, I may try and get you a build that has some debugging in it, so that I can perhaps figure out why its crashing.

But yeah I had uninstalled it again, before posting here, but once again installing it, the results were exactly the same. Here is a link to the settings file there is no libary.dat file only a libary.dll file. http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/283631/Settings.dat

Anyway I hope this gives you the info your looking for I cant seem to copy and paste the bug data report so I cant really give you all of that but if there is a way that you might know how to do that I would be happy too.

Ok, as a quick fix to see if this is the problem, Open up the settings.dat file in Notepad and change

Code: Select All Code

<simplelibrary Load="true" />

to

Code: Select All Code

<simplelibrary Load="false" />

and see if it now runs. I'm assuming its the library causing the crash, so hopefully this will work for you.

thats the original Xion version, perhaps checkout the latest beta build 67 in the beta section, a lot of things have been fixed since then, if that doesnt fix it then...

I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but it seems as though this has fixed the problem. I wanted to say thanks for your help, and I will let you know if anything else happens.

Excellent, as SLoB said, it may actually be fixed in the latest Beta version if you wanted to give that a try, and then reactivate the library component in the Configure window.

This is the same problem I was having with mine and I had to disable the library module also to get Xion to run. I have not tried since .67 beta version though....

Nope, still having the same problem. As soon as I turned the library on the hd light went solid and stayed on for about 30 seconds and then xion crashed. Disabled the simple library and everything is fine,

might wanna add that to the 67 beta thread UnseenRage so Cliff can see and sort it for the next build, looks like we're still a little way off a full release yet
