This is my avatar on deviantart. Thought I'd make it a skin for Xion...

Nothing special really. The eyes glow with the beat. It's still a WIP - I only have the basic buttons right now. There will be an expanded pulldown with volumn controls, etc. and I still need to add the progress bar.

Just sharing...

Just saw that you are experiencing some weird slow downs?

I can't think of anything that would be causing this. I run both FF 2.0 and Xion all the time on a 2.8GHZ and have no problems.

The only thing I can think of is that perhaps there is something wrong with your sound drivers? Perhaps try upgrading them to the latest version. Another thing you could try is to open the Xion configuration window, go to the Output tab and select DirectSound and then Waveout and see if it makes any difference. Xion will automagically switch sound systems on the fly so you don't have to restart Xion or the stream or anything.

See how you go.

Cliff :)

Thanks! I saw your suggestion to change the output settings in another thread and I tried both the directsound and the waveout with the same result.

It could be the audio drivers - I'll try that next.

I'll let you know if that works...

BTW, thanks for making a player that anyone can skin - except for the slowdown I have with FF, it's great.

Glad you are enjoying using it :)

It's a shame that machines that seem similar function completely differently. For all I know it could be your motherboard drivers, or perhaps its because you are running in 16bit, or for all we know there is an irq conflict on your machine :?

It's annoying because i'd like to fix it, I just obviously can't reproduce it on my machine.

could be one of the extensions in ff slowing it down in contact with xion ... I run FF (both 1.5.0.6 and 2.0) with xion and I have no slowdowns whatsoever ... try disabling all your extensions and turning them on one by one ...

I'll try it today..I'm running greasemonkey - that's pretty much it...

I'm also going to go through all the audio options one more time - after I verify I have that latest drivers.

Thanks for your help!
