Skin Consortium in association with Xion Audio Player and it's
author Cliff Cawley bring you this exciting competition.



Think you have what it takes to design and create the ultimate Xion skin?
Well then this competition is just for you!

Competition Time!

The competition will run for the next month and we're looking for some
really cool skin designs.
With Xion taking care of the coding this leaves the design aspect to really
flourish and we will be looking at the design aspect of the skins and
clever use of layer control to get the best out of what Xion is capable of
doing.

So put on your designing heads and pull out your graphics editors and show
us your creativity.
Get skinning!

What do points make? Prizes

• 1st Prize $250
• 2nd Prize $100
• 3rd Prize $50
• Top skins will get exposure on both SC & Xion home pages
• Skin Author profile/questionare will also be part of the exposure

Sounds good eh? Well before you start you might want to check the rules!

Here are the Rules:-

• Closing date for all entries is Saturday, 31 May 2008 at - Midnight GMT
• Designs have to be by you.
• No limit on number of entries per person
• The skin must be "NEW" original (not already uploaded to any other site)
• The skin cannot be uploaded to another site until after the end of the
  competition.
• Skin Uploading will take place anytime during the competition, from
  Thursday 1st May to Saturday 30th May before Midnight GMT
• Skins have to be functional, usable
• The skin has to work on Xion v1.00 build 100+
  Xion Download Page
  (should not be a design proposal, but a real
  skin!)
• Any skins working on new beta builds 100+ are also welcome - make sure to
  post which beta version (if using specific version functionality)!

Extra info:-

• Designs will be judged by SC staff and Cliff Cawley. Staff here (ADMINS)
  can't enter
• The Public can also vote for skins - these votes will also have an impact
  on the judges decisions! so make sure to vote for your favourite skin!
• The more points your skin gets the better your chance for the top prizes
• Skins will be featured on Xion & SC home pages
• Winners will be announced a week after the public skin voting poll is put
  up (at competition deadline), you will have 1 week to vote for your
  favourite skin!

Okay, Okay!!! I've been skinning as fast (and well) as I can!

deadline is 30th May 12pm Midnight GMT so you got plenty of time yet, remember we're looking for quality so please don't rush things, plenty of time left to make it as awesome as you can

the other good thing with this competition is that we are also opening up the voting to a user poll too so the public has a chance to vote for their favourite skin and affect the voting points

Does this mean we can only submit our entries to the Skin Consortium contest link until June, or are we allowed to post our entries here too?

if you cannot post them on the sc forum then please email me with the skin and i will put them up in the SC forum
you do not have to have an SC forum account but we would like to keep them all on the SC forum for the now, of course feel free to register yourself at SC if you would like to.

the SC forum is one of the best places for coding, skinning media players we welcome new members too

Ok, so I'll just have to refrain from posting them here until June.

Anyways... my PhotoShop computer is crapping out, so I'm stuck where I am until I can work out why it won't boot. Fortunately, my PSDs are recoverable.

if anyone has finished skins then feel free to email me them (IF you do not want to join SC forum) and I can put them up in the completed Xion skins comp thread

of course add any specific info if need be, a promo pic might also be good or some kind of screenshot so that it helps us reduce the amount of time needed to post these (if your not doing it yourself)

SLoB, just because none have been posted yet, doesn't mean they are not coming (or are done)

Approx 1 week left to competition deadline!

Well I know there are some skins in the works by the skinners out there, you have approx 1 week left before the deadline, get those skins coming in soon, ideally you want to get them in well before the deadline so that they can drum up some enthusiasm and excitement before we start voting on them.

Also remember that a public voting poll will be put up for the skins entered, this will run for 1 week which is ample time to get votes in.
The voting will be held both here and the SC forum and votes will be combined, they will also contribute to the judges votes!
