Hi everyone!

I've had some time recently to improve a few things in Xion. I have a few large changes I want to look at doing, however one that I keep getting asked about, but has never actually been requested in the feedback page, was the ability to use all 28 of the spectrum bands in skins.

Basically this allows you to completely re-create what the spectrum analyzer plugin does, but completely in a skin.

Check out the screen cast I made which shows the plugin on the left, and a completely skin powered version on the right. There's also support for transparency objects, which are the white pulses in the background. Animation sets will also be supported.

Can we get the ability to add in a playlist into a skin? so we could have resizable main skin that includes the pl This would also help to compete with other media players that use this approach.
There's a whole backlog of feature requests, is there going to be a list compiled with priorities appointed to them?
A poll could be run on those to see the ones most wanted.

I've got some plans and I'm well aware of the long feature request list.

There are a few secret squirrel operations in progress, so more will be revealed as time goes by.

I think we've all been missing the regular betas with new stuff

personally, i wish the current skinnable vumeters reflected the levels of the actual source; pre- volume output.

Well...seen as Cliff has posted this, I guess it wouldn't hurt to let you guys know that I'm working on a new default skin update. It's redesigned from the ground up but still has a similar appearance.

I dono if Cliff wants to keep certain things on the hush-hush so I'll just say that we've been in touch every day for a while now and I'm building the new features into the skin as they come.

Cliff dude, I'm shit at keeping secrets xD. Any chance we could have a proper topic to post progress shots of what we've been doing? Perhaps not the "other thing..." but at least the skin updates/tests of new stuff. I'm itching to show people! Although I can appreciate the element of surprise too.

Be great to see some progress and inject some life back into the forum. Play your cards right Cliff and you could probably string us along with teasers for the next few months. I'm sure Lance would be reassured with a bit of positive feedback too. Keeps those creative juices flowing...

in fact, I have already discarded 3/4 of my fullscreen skin this AM, (we always knew I could)it will be a nice place to try it...
