I finally got a reply from AVG on this:
Dear Sir/Madam,
thank you for your email.
Please accept our apology, if you have experienced longer than usual
response time from AVG. We are experiencing a higher than usual volume
of e-mail messages from our customers now. Though we do our best to
answer in a timely manner, you may experience an extended response
time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
The mentioned files should not be detected by AVG at the moment.
Unfortunately, the previous virus database might have detected the
mentioned virus on some legitimate applications.
If there are still some file(s) falsely detected, please pack the
file(s) into a password-protected archive and send us to [email]
e-mail address. Please mention the used password in the body of the
e-mail.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Looks like they had a buggy database release, no wonder they are experiencing a high volume of emails
In case you are on the lookout for a quality freeware virus checker, check out Avast -

I tried AVG ages ago but didn't like it as much as Avast. No I'm not getting paid to push Avast (although I wish I was!

)
I've been using it for years at home and its been rock solid. I just wish work would use it instead of the slow one they currently have
