I'd really like to be able to scroll text w/o it being a track or needing appends.

In this example, it would come in handy for the scrolling "Need for Xion" text in my Need for Speed skin. Seems this would scroll smoother (and be an easier choice) than animating text.

Alternately, I could see an append for the current track layer that excludes everything except author defined input.

"marquee" keyword:

specify area like normal track/time text objects except it always scrolls instead of just scrolls when it runs to the edge...sounds good to me.
