extra info

Well, I'm not quite sure what its called, but I wish Xion could recognize the info that's attached to mp3 files such as author, album, etc. I name my mp3 files only by the name of the song, so in the past, I've relied on winamp to search for the author based on that extra information. Does this make sense??

Ahh, yes! ID3 tags - that would be a great feature. I'd love to be able to define text fields in a skin for Artist, Album, Year, Genre, Track, etc.

I agree, This would be an excellent new feature to add with the ability to show all of this info on the player.

ther was already a thread for this lol and i dont think it will get any more prioritised the more threads ther are ;)
Winamp ha its own window for id3 tags so Cliff may well implement something like that rather than give us text objects, altho both would be good

Umm, you guys realise you can right click on the item in the playlist and select 'View Song Information' to bring up the ID3 tags? (and to change them) ?

Cliff :)

Yep I've seen that, I guess I didn't explain myself clearly! I was looking for the ability to sort the playlist based on ID3 information. For example, if I typed in "Jack Johnson" right now, it wouldn't bring up anything, because the actual file name is the name of the song.

When you use the filter box, it should search id3 and filenames for the keywords you type in.

I'll look into it, perhaps its not working correctly.

Hmm, I looked at it more this morning, and on some songs, it recognizes the ID3 information, but others don't seem to be showing up. :( I'm running the latest build... Maybe its just a problem on my system...

Is there are a file in particular that it doesn't work on? If so, perhaps you could send it to me so that I can investigate?

Cliff :)

Cliff, I sent a song that wasn't showing ID3 information for me. I sent it as an attachment to 'general inquiries'. Thanks!
