I have a license and I only downloaded the AgSio xion skin.

It's crashing when I switch to an other skin or when I close the xion player.

I think it's a skin problem because the basic skin is running fine.
I didn't tried any other skin yet.

Tried an other skin same problem with Slick.
I can't choose an other skin when I switched to Slick

Hmm I should have waited before buying this player.

The skins I downloaded for U3 are now on my xion player that's running on my computer
Maybe that's why it keeps crashing because it doesn't know which player is the real one.
I gonna delete the player on my computer and will try the u3 player again.

Oke, it's a little bit more stable now. But it's still crashing.

I removed U3 and I'm now running the normal portable version and is working fine now.

U3 just sucks! http://portableapps.com/ is much better!

I think it's stupid to pay for software that sucks. Normally I went back to the shop for asking my money back. On the other hand I donated some money now to xion so that's oke.

Hi Grolo,

It's a shame that you are experiencing a crash with the U3 version. Could you tell me a little more about the crash? How did you install the skin? Can you give me some steps to reproduce from starting it, till the crash?

This is the first time that I've heard a report that the U3 version is crashing.

I think there are only 3 way's to install a skin and tried them all.
1. Save to harddisk and open it. It's asking me to install the skin.
2. Save to harddisk and move the file to the skin menu. It's asking me to install the skin.
3. Not "save as" but upen file directly after download. It's asking me to install the skin.

Skin is succesfully installed.
After a restart and trying to choose an other skin it will crash. It will also crash on close.
It's also crashing randomly and when I want to open a playlist or something else (sometimes). And sometimes after a restart asking for a serial number again.

I can reproduce this crash verry easy. There are no errors it's just crashing.
But I'm not running U3 anymore.

I have windows vista maybe the other users are running XP?

By the way what's the big difference between the U3 and the portable version? Portable version is running fine without problems.

If you are running either the portable or the u3 version then the only way to 'Install' a skin will be to drag and drop it onto the Interface. Both of these portable versions won't register anything in the registry and therefore won't allow you to open a skin in the manner you are describing. Are you sure you haven't installed the Windows version as well?

Check the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel item to ensure that Xion isn't listed in there. If it is, its possible that you have an old version installed that isn't too stable.

Please check which version you are using for the U3 version. You can find out by right clicking the Tray Icon and selecting 'About Xion'

The portable version is simply a version of Xion that won't place anything in the Registry. Hence it shouldn't even be allowing you to install skins by double clicking them. It won't even allow you to register file types such as mp3.

The U3 version is completely integrated with the U3 platform (http://www.u3.com) and detects when the drive is inserted/removed, etc. It is similar to the portable version, but is written using specialised code for a U3 zip/pen drive.
